example@domain.com

You can not get a domain name with out registering it... If you are running a business it is very important to be professional and have your own domain name. If a business can not afford a domain name I would not trust them for anything. I would not pay them any money because it is clear they would just take it and run.

Considering you can get it for $7.99 at http://www.businessemail.biz if you can not afford that you can not afford to run a business, plain and simple.

P.S. DO NOT get a .co.cc for a business. Most people know that they are used mostly by scammers, to the point that they are ALL blocked (scam or not) by Google.

The best you could possible do it to use a service through something like mail.com

http://www.mail.com/email/#.348236-stage-domain-seeall

You pick your email name and have it attached to one of their 200 domain names.

If you want forwarding you will have to pay a monthly fee.

Beyond that I would suggest you look as someone hosting for you for a fee.

FYI if any of your emails will contain e-PHI data or PI data a freebie web service is not going to work as you have to have a proven audit trail for that data.

If you want email@mybusinessname.com then you have to register the domain mybusinessname.com

There is no way around that.

The alternative is to have a semi-custom name like email@mybusinessname.co.cc or as a subdomain of another domain name -- that will cost you $4 per year and up depending on the company you buy the service from. But you will have to live with their domain name between your business name and the top level domain, such as email@mybusiness.mailprovider.com

What is a domain backorder?
Domain backordering refers to a service that most domain registrars offer which will allow you to register a domain name that will soon be expiring in hopes of capturing the rights to that domain name before someone else grabs it.

There is typically a period of unpredictable time, normally around three hours, in which the domain is deleted from the registrar's database when it then becomes available for someone else to register. The domain is actually not yet available when you place it on backorder. Although the current owner can not renew the domain at this point, if you are planning to buy it you have to wait until it drops.

The great thing about backordering domains is that you can backorder any domain name that you want regardless of whether it is a brand new name or one that was registered years ago. The thing to keep in mind when planning to use the backordering option however is to only backorder domains which you know will be expiring within the next few days.

You should also keep in mind that not all expired domain names can be backordered. The owner may soon renew them before they are permanently deleted by the registrar or they may possibly be on HOLD status pending the outcome or settlement of a trademark or other dispute. In cases like this the registrar will hold the domain. This is why you need to fully understand the process of backordering and which services will help you to determine the best domain names to place a backorder on.

Recommended Backorder Services
There are currently three major companies which specialize in domain backordering.
We highly recommend that you place the backorder for your desired domain name on ALL THREE of these sites if you really want to help your chances of receiving that soon to expire domain.

The three services that we currently recommend are:

    Pool.com
    Namejet.com
    Caxk.com

There's no difference. Every time you purchase a domain name, you register it for a fee. There are resellers of domain names and web hosting plans. They do the business of selling of domain names. Buying is generally not involved but they can do so on behalf of their clients. But to start a reseller business you have have your own domain name which must be registered. Check here for domain registration with iPage: http://www.webhostingbreak.com/ipage-domain-registration/

First you have to register a domain. You then control that one and can use it or put it up for sale.

Most all the really good ones are already taken.

Be careful of registering a domain that might be someone's registered trademark.
